Pepper

An old sketch dating back to the times I still went to a painting course. I always liked to scribble and play with colours and I chose to begin with a sort of art club during High school: it consisted of a bunch of different people painting/drawing/colouring in a room under the supervision of a tutor, a master painter. During university, with my second "Maestro", I did a lot of truelife paintings, placing an endless series of objects under a spotlight and trying to copy them with the correct "chiaroscuro" (shades and lights used to give the 3d effect to the drawn thing).
Among the others, I enjoyed myself with a goatskull, some gypsum statues, some pumpkins (the weirder their shape, the better, like these ones [link]) and so on...

This pepper, done with watercolours and pencil, dates back to that period...
